Web Design - Where to Start

Easy Navigation for Your Website:
Always remember to make your site as easy to navigate as possible. A lot of websites today will have great content, but neglect the layout so that content is hard for visitors to find or read. Having a standardised menu structure for navigation that is consistent throughout your site is the key.

Less is more:
Overloading your sites content with graphics, advertising, information and trying to fill a website with the latest technology in order to make it look more professional, can actually turn visitors away. Most people enjoy simpler sites were the information or product is easily found. You do not want to overwhelm visitors with too much to look at. If this happens, they will simply find another website that is easier for them.

Search Engine Friendly:
When entering content or information into your web pages remember to make it friendly to search engines (seo) like Google, Yahoo, Bing and others. Before entering information into your web pages you should identify 10 to 12 keywords that someone might use with search engines to find your Website. Once you have identified those keywords you then need to incorporate them into the content of your pages. Be careful to not overload you site with these keywords. You should have a good amount, but not so much to where they take away from the quality of your content.
